A private Metin2 server run by fans, free of charge and not for profit.
Metin2 is owned by Gameforge and Netmarble. This project has no official affiliation with them, is not authorised by them, and does not represent them.
Playing here costs nothing. You can donate to help pay for the server (see below), but nobody has to in order to play or for anything else. And there is no promise that the server will be available, that progress will not be lost, or that there will be no bugs.
There are automatic backups, and they are looked after. But they are not a guarantee: a server run by one person in their spare time can go down, and it can take a while to come back.
Your account is yours and you are responsible for what is done with it. Do not share it and do not sell it.
One technical detail worth knowing: the game password accepts 16 characters at most. If you set a longer one when registering, the game will not let you in with it.
If you lose access, you can recover it with the security question, or by signing in again with Google or Discord if you had them linked.
The game rules are on the Rules page and are part of these terms.
Cheating, automated programs, deliberately abusing bugs, harassing other players or trying to get into someone else's account: account blocked, and depending on how serious it is, without warning.
Creating accounts by machine or getting around the registration checks is also grounds for a block.
Items, dragon coins, characters and everything obtained by playing have no real-world value and are not your property: they are rows in a database that can be changed, corrected or deleted.
Dragon coins are earned by playing, voting, inviting others, and as a thank-you for a donation. They cannot be sold or exchanged for money between players. Anyone trying to buy or sell accounts or items for money loses their account.
One person pays for this server out of their own pocket. Anyone who wants to help can donate via PayPal or in crypto, and as a thank-you receives dragon coins according to the table on the donation page.
It is a donation, not a purchase: it entitles you to nothing, it is not refundable, and the coins are a thank-you credited by hand after the transaction is checked. If the server closes, the coins and whatever was obtained with them are lost with it, like everything else.
The website charges nothing: you pay on PayPal or from your wallet, then register the reference. A reference can only be registered once.
The server may close at any time and without notice, and everything played would be lost with it. This is a personal project, not a paid service. If notice can be given, it will be.
Whoever runs the server may block an account, remove items obtained by cheating, or revert anything gained by exploiting a bug. The intention is to do this sensibly and with an explanation, and it can be appealed on Discord.
These terms may change. The date at the top says when they last did, and important changes are announced on Discord and in the news.
This was written by the person who runs the server, not by a lawyer. It is here because how this works needs to be stated in writing, and because Google requires it in order to offer the sign-in-with-Google button.
