What Novaris is

A private Metin2 server run by fans, free of charge and not for profit.

Metin2 is owned by Gameforge and Netmarble. This project has no official affiliation with them, is not authorised by them, and does not represent them.

It is free, and there is no warranty

Playing here costs nothing and nothing is sold. Since no money is involved, there is also no promise that the server will be available, that progress will not be lost, or that there will be no bugs.

There are automatic backups, and they are looked after. But they are not a guarantee: a server run by one person in their spare time can go down, and it can take a while to come back.

Your account

Your account is yours and you are responsible for what is done with it. Do not share it and do not sell it.

One technical detail worth knowing: the game password accepts 16 characters at most. If you set a longer one when registering, the game will not let you in with it.

If you lose access, you can recover it with the security question, or by signing in again with Google or Discord if you had them linked.

How to behave

The game rules are on the Rules page and are part of these terms.

Cheating, automated programs, deliberately abusing bugs, harassing other players or trying to get into someone else's account: account blocked, and depending on how serious it is, without warning.

Creating accounts by machine or getting around the registration checks is also grounds for a block.

In-game things are not worth money

Items, dragon coins, characters and everything obtained by playing have no real-world value and are not your property: they are rows in a database that can be changed, corrected or deleted.

They are not sold for money or for anything else. Everything in the shop is obtained by playing or by inviting others. Anyone trying to buy or sell accounts or items for money loses their account.

This can end

The server may close at any time and without notice, and everything played would be lost with it. This is a personal project, not a paid service. If notice can be given, it will be.

Penalties

Whoever runs the server may block an account, remove items obtained by cheating, or revert anything gained by exploiting a bug. The intention is to do this sensibly and with an explanation, and it can be appealed on Discord.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top says when they last did, and important changes are announced on Discord and in the news.

This was written by the person who runs the server, not by a lawyer. It is here because how this works needs to be stated in writing, and because Google requires it in order to offer the sign-in-with-Google button.
