Novaris is a private Metin2 server, free of charge and not for profit, run by a private individual as a hobby. It is not a company and has no official relationship with Gameforge or Netmarble, who own the game.
For anything about your data, write on the server Discord, which is the contact channel.
Only what is needed for you to have an account and to keep people from abusing the server:
Account: your username, your password (stored encrypted, never in plain text), your email address, the date you registered, the last time you played, and whether the account is active or blocked. If you set a security question, the question and the answer.
Game: your characters, their level, kingdom, guild and what they carry, because that is the save game. Plus a record of your logins and logouts with the date, time played and client version.
Website: if you sign in with Google or Discord, we store the identifier that service gives us for you and the email it confirms. Also your dragon coins, what you buy in the shop, coins you send to another player, your votes and who invited you.
IP addresses: stored when sending coins, when voting and when counting failed sign-in attempts, so that abuse can be stopped. They are not used for anything else.
What is NOT stored: there is no payment system of any kind, so nobody's bank details are here. We also never ask for your real name, address, phone number or age.
So that you can log into the game and the website, to give you back access if you lose your password, to deliver what you buy in the shop, to build the public rankings, and to stop anyone creating accounts by machine, cheating or harassing other players.
It is not sold or handed to anyone, and it is not used for advertising. There is no advertising on this website.
If you register with the Google or Discord button, that service tells us three things: an identifier for you, your email address, and that the address is verified. Nothing else.
We do not receive your Google or Discord password, your contacts, your servers, or anything you do outside this site. And we cannot write anything to your account with them.
That button exists so that we do not have to send you a verification email: they have already checked that the address is yours. You choose the game password here, because the game needs one and they cannot provide it.
You can unlink Google or Discord at any time from My account. The game account keeps working with its username and password.
This site uses two, and neither is for tracking you:
One session cookie, which keeps you signed in while you browse and disappears when you close the browser. And one that remembers which language you want the page in.
There are no advertising cookies, no analytics, no social network cookies, and no third parties following you across other sites. That is why this site does not ask you anything when you arrive: there is nothing to consent to.
The website goes through Cloudflare, which serves it and protects it from attacks. That means Cloudflare sees the requests you make to the page, as any intermediary of this kind does.
Registration and password recovery use Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that you are a person and not a program. It does not ask you to solve puzzles or identify images.
Account and game data, for as long as the account exists.
The failed-attempt counters delete themselves after a short time. Records of game logins and shop purchases are kept for as long as they are useful to resolve a problem or a complaint.
To be told what we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, or to have it deleted. Ask on the server Discord.
Deleting the account also deletes the characters and everything achieved with them, and that cannot be undone. You will be warned before it happens.
This server is not intended for children. If you are under age, ask a parent or guardian before registering.
If this changes, the date at the top changes. If the change is important, it will be announced on Discord and in the website news.
This was written by the person who runs the server, not by a lawyer, and it is worded to be understood rather than to cover anyone's back. It describes what the code actually does. If something does not match what you see, that is a mistake and it will be fixed: say so on Discord.
